nut is becoming a real character!

she is currently having a hissy fit!

lately she has not even touched her pellets, so i've greatly reduced the treats she gets.

i feed her harrisons super fine, fresh fruit and what veggies she'll eat, mainly corn on cob and some butternut squash, peas in pod etc and lafeberries, tried her on sprouting beans etc that she also throws out of her dish

well she's not touched her pellets for a long time now and is becoming really picky, she will eat the lafeberries, fruits and certain veg, chicken, egg white and seeded bread

anyway today i've just put pellets out for her and a few grapes, she's eaten the grapes but is currently and rather dramatically throwing the pellets out of her food dish, normally she would pick the pellets of what ever they stick on grrr

so is there another pellet i can try her on?? or should i continue with the restricted diet? her restricted diet is mainly pellets and a little fruit an veg

Hey sue i was having same problem with Vincent he wasn't touching his pellets either just be patient. He's fine now after few days he was eating everything else except pellets

oh i forgot also harrisons power treats,

lol at patience, i've just refilled her dish with pellets, just a few, shes currently sat next into her bowl lookin all woe begone and hard done by!

Same here, when I got Tiki, the previous owners had her on a straight seed diet with very little fruit or veggies. I have finally gotten her to each some fruits and some veggies, but no pellets. I'm using Zupreem since that is the only pellets that my local pet shop carries.

Oh yeah, being from the south, she has to like grits, which she does. She also like cream of wheat & oatmeal (all cooked) by the way.

well the restricted diet is kinda working, i've just got home, and she's been riding my shoulder hoping for a tit bit of something, makin cute sounds at me and even beak butted me, all to no avail and she has gone on top of her cage for the few pellets i put in earlier! surprise she didnt throw them out! she is not eating with relish, she still has that hard done by look, lol but she can have a alittle tea with us later on

My best friend got his Senegal when he was very young, he's born in 1956. They did not know Charlie's age. His parents kept him at their house. I used to go there to clip his nails for him. And hang around him all the time since their my friend's parents. They had him on seed diet for 40 something years along with fruits, veggies, and peanuts and other nut treat on a daily basis. Pellets did not come out until way later after they had their bird. Im all for pellet diet, but there are things that happened in the past im not 100% fond of pellets.
