Peanuts and the Aspergillis link

Certain molds only grow on certain hosts.
This is the same as Fungi and trees.
The mold you are looking at I guess is not the same one as you find in Peanuts.

As Birdamor points out Aspergillis spores maybe everywhere, but it may not be active, the host and conditions not right for it to bloom.

I know Macadamia nut if it sits on wet ground to long gets a spot type mold on the kernal.
A lot of problems are caused by the way they are treated after harvesting.
Always check all foods you feed your birds. You do need to know what is fresh and what to throw out.
