Parrots like their pellets stirred not shaken

Naughty! My bird likes to “feel his wealth” by swirling his beak in the treat bowl. I let him pick out the nut of his choice, like I used to do as a child picking out a toy from the dentist’s treasure chest (do dentists still do that? 😂).

He has a SS macaw cage from Animal Environments. I bought it around 1990. A number of years later, they contacted me and said they now had heavy duty locking food dishes and asked me if I would like to swap out the original dishes for the new design. I never had an issue with my bird trying to remove the food cups, but as I lived very close to their manufacturing facility at that time, I went in and swapped them out. There is no way, no how that a bird could get those out now! I can barely remove them using both hands! 😜

You need better technology for your mischievous macaw. You need to outwit him to win the game!

When young, (under 50). It's a hindrance to out smart a feathered peraon. Now 70+ it's considered a mental health exercise! Keeping brain functioning! Did you know a couple of toothpicks, chop stick etc cut to fit can hinder screw attached dishes? Stop dish rotation? Safe, chewable and cheap! Wish I'd had birdie smarts 20+ years ago! The money I'd saved!
