Parrots
Ziggy (African Grey) and Elvis B&G
Are two things that dont always go well together. Ziggy my grey is great about knowing when to talk and what to say or not say. Elvis on the other hand...

Since my roads werent safely drivable with my car i worked from home the last 2 days. yesterday i had a conference call with a few important folks. Elvis decided it was the perfect time to scream "Help Me!" and threw in a couple "What are you doing?" through the conference call. Thankfully i had a feeling she would try to be funny and kept my phone on mute.

LOL..that's great!

LOL! I work from home and have learned I can't put the call on speaker because Buddy joins in. The first time he did this I was talking to a coworker. He started saying "Hello" over and over again so my coworker disconnected and called me back. Buddy has talked to all my team members, also a couple of clients who then receive an email with Buddy's picture so they can see who was talking to them. So far no negative feedback, it actually makes them smile so it's ok but I do most of my calls on a headset because Buddy will hijack the meeting, lol.

Yep - I see some training coming my way...or the parrots way soon. Something they are going to have to put up with...the phone and me on it. ;)

Ha ha! I work from home and have a Grey and cockatoo who both seem to use that time to their advantage. If it's a planned conference call, especially with someone outside my own regular tribe, I give them a really special toy with their passion nuts (pine nuts and pistachios) hidden inside, one that takes quite a while to extract. They almost never get that toy unless I need them to be really, really focused on their own business rather than sabotaging mine, so it's really effective. :)

Lol! I work from home as well, but my work is all pet related and none of my birds speak English well enough to get confusing. Most of my clients either never hear the birds or just hear them a bit in the background. I'm one of those people with a bird room, and although there are birds in multiple places, there are not cages (just play stands) in the main living area.

My biggest conference call culprit is Canelo, my English bully, he snores. My director was going over my review and suddenly stopped talking. Canelo was directly under my desk and had started snoring loud. Before we started the review, I told my director he was there and may start snoring. I was apologizing profusely and my director was cracking up with laughter. My mute is on for 99% of my calls and meetings, lol.
