Valentino - Red Fronted Macaw - Hatched August 12, 2012
I have to post something a little light with some amusement.

Last week I was watching the Olympics figure skating and Valentino was relaxing on my laying up against my face as per usual.

A pair of figure skaters began to perform.

Suddenly Valentino starts and shoves his big green body up against my face and neck. I sooth him and then felt him relax.

The camera catches the pair zoom by and again Valentino is startled. Again I comfort him then I put some birdy crack in his foraging toy and put him in his cage so I could go upstairs to watch the figure skating without scaring him.

Last night they were showing Woman's Skeleton. This event kind of freaks me out because they are lying SUPINE on a small sled their faces out first with only a helmet and plastic face guard to protect them.

I was way into watching that because I was just waiting for some woman to wipe out. Meanwhile every time the camera showed a athlete zoom on by on the track Valentino would startle and would then kind of duck down. It did not matter the angle or shot of the run either. Poor Valentino got startled over and over as I watched. I ended up holding the frightened parrot against my chest and whispered sweet nothings to him.

The freak freestyle skiing did not bother him. That was fun to watch though. Men sure can get those high jumps and do some amazing tricks.

Then men's single figure skating began.

As I watched them skate and fall for what ever reason none of this bothered Valentino. Maybe he enjoyed watching them fall down?

My parrot Valentino is weird.

My CAG likes watching hockey...

That's where he learned to yell "GOAL!"

BUT HE MUST BE OLD SCHOOL BECAUSE HE REALLY SEEMS TO ENJOY THE HOCKEY FIGHTS - EVEN DOES HIS LITTLE POOFY BIRD DANCE...

So, yeah, watching people wipe out might be amusing.

LMAO! That is so funny, thinking of a big birdy puffing up and strutting around whenever there is a hockey fight on tv.

Actually, he poofs up and starts dancing...

We don't know why, but he's always reacted to hockey fights.

Personally, I'm not a fan of goon hockey... but apparently Tusk is a "Hansen Bros" fan!
