So... paper cups can be very useful when making your own toys but I have yet to encounter any paper cups that don't have that wax on the inside, is it okay to still use them?

Can you get the little Dixie Cups that go in the bathroom? They are just paper.

in my experience they have wax too but I'll take another look.

Yeah, I do believe you can find cups that are just paper.

Good for you, for being so "paranoid"! :)

Paper cups for hot liquids are plastic coated. There are now PLA coated cups that are being made. PLA is a bioplastic, made from plant based materials!

Good call...I saw these not too long ago, that's the way to go, as they would be totally safe for birds and they are regular-size cups. You can buy the little dixie-cups that are just paper, but it's nearly impossible to find larger paper cups that don't have the wax on them because it's what keeps the cup from disintegrating. So the PLA-coated ones are the way to go. I've seen them at both the grocery store and at Walmart.
