Wow, just wow...I certainly hope that someone is watching over your Grey and the new baby bird, because you are taking a huge chance in doing what you did...
Honestly, the fact that you said that your bird who died suddenly "had suffered from a long-time sinus issue" that you never got him vet care for was enough for me to say you should not get any more birds until you get the Grey that you already had to an Avian Vet for a long overdue Wellness Exam...You do realize that you should have every one of your birds to an Avian Vet for a Wellness Exam with fecal culture and blood-work once every year, regardless of whether they are sick or not?
I guess my problem is the fact that you bought a new baby less than 3 days after the sudden and undiagnosed acute-death of the bird you never took to the vet. If you had $1,400 to buy a "replacement" bird within 3 days, you had the money to get your Grey to the Avian Vet for testing to ensure his health and well-being. That's called being a responsible parrot owner, or pet owner in-general. As SilverSage already said, your entire attitude is very scary...and irresponsible, and careless.
I certainly hope that everything is okay with your Grey and the "replacement" bird. I truly hope that you don't find one of them suddenly dead in the near future too, because that's something that I wouldn't want anyone to have to live with...
