As I posted a couple of weeks ago, we lost our eclectus Parrot due to sudden death. Sunday we adopted a beautiful blue wing macaw.
He has had a hard couple of years. His original owner passed away, and he went to a rescue when no family members wanted him. He spent a few months in a rescue, and then went to a foster home. Seven months in a foster home, they decided to get a divorce and no longer wanted him. Back to the rescue he went.
As I’m sure you can imagine, this was very stressful for him. He started plucking and is missing a lot of his undercarriage feathers. When my wife and I heard his story, and met him for the first time, we just knew we had to give him a better life.
We’ve only had him for two days and he’s already taken into me. he’s talking to me nonstop, he steps up with no hesitation. And really seems to want our attention. I think this is going to be an amazing fit, and addition to our family.
