Just have to vent, it's been a HORRIBLE day!
So, about ten minutes before we leave to go buy a new printer, I'm sitting on the bed, with the laptop and the dog goes to climb up on the bed. Normally this isn't an issue, he sleeps on the bed every night and he is allowed up there. But for some reason I noticed he wasn't smelling so fresh today so I decided I was going to give him a bath after going to the store and until then, try to keep him off the bed/furniture. I told him no(he didn't listen) so I tried to physically block him from getting up. Well, that plan didn't go so well. He is a rottweiler/shepherd mix, around the 100lb mark and he completely pushed me backwards as he was trying to climb up....and I land, yep, right on the open laptop. As soon as I felt it I knew exactly what it was and I knew without even looking that it broke it. I turned around and saw this...

Needless to say, I'm not happy! Looking around for a replacement screen, they all seem to be around $100, which sucks because for a little more I could just get a new computer(I don't mind used, I work on a lot of computers and my room mate is IT guy so he really knows his stuff). I was literally freaking out for about 3 hours, I have eggs about to hatch in less than a week, a lot of people I'm comunicating with online about said birds and now my computer is smashed. Luckily, my room mate had an extra monitor laying around so for right now I have that hooked up along with speakers and an external mouse, and it's working, but it still doesn't help the near aneurism I have ever time I start up the computer and see the broken screen. I just keep going, that didn't really happen, did it? D*mn! it did.

Ended up going and a buying a printer, not the one I wanted but oh well, right now, I don't even care, haven't tested it out yet, it's 2am already and I'm still fighting with trying to get all this set up right. It also has my SO a little mad because since I'm usually up late on the computer, the new arrangements has required him to switch me sides of the bed(apparently that's a big deal in man world lol).
Ugh...but anyway, just had to vent, my dog is REALLY lucky that I'm a passive aggressive, animal loving vegan or his butt would be fending for itself out in the woods right now....

Oh no!!! :( Naughty dog! That really sucks big time, I hope you can get it fixed for a cheap price!

oh naughty dog!! no treats for a wk! or till you calm down, say by next day lol :)

Oh my goodness....naughty dog!!!!! No wonder I'm not getting anything on farmville...lol

One time my neighbor's dog was in my yard, and my huge German Shepard mix jumped up to see it through the window. He knocked the stereo down and broke it. I know how you feel right now. But, animals are like children and make mistakes. They don't understand it was something you cared about and that it costs money.

One of my dogs when she was a puppy ate my entire kitchen floor when I was at work one day. My kitchen is 16x27 so it was a lot of floor! I came home and the only lineoleum left were some little circles under the legs of the kitchen table. I was a broke, young person who did not have money at that time for a new floor. Luckily I found some super cheap stick on tiles and that worked until I had money for the floor I really wanted.

lmao is this why you posted icy??

Haha, nope, just extremely frustrated. Mikey just happens to be on my fb and since the computer got broken I didn't play any farmville yesterday lol. I posted an ad on craigslist and have been looking online so hopefully I can find a new screen for this soon, until then the external monitor isn't so bad. It would be better if I had an extra keyboard, all of mine are for desktops though and for this laptop it has to be a USB connection.

And don't worry, the dog didn't get punished too badly, I yelled at him and he didn't get any people food all day yesterday but other than that I don't think he even knows anything happened. He even slept on the bed lol. :p Did I mention that the dog actually has his own bed? And I don't mean a dog bed, I mean a toddler mattress that is actually his...apparently it's not the same as the big bed so he only settles for that if there really isn't anywhere else to sit...:20:

 Oh nooo! That really bites , sorry IcyWolf
Your kicking yourself now , better then the dog , but still , it isnt HIS fault , lolol. He had no control where you landed , he knew he was allowed on the bed , and you were rude enough to get in his way , so he politely "nudged" you aside .
( Just talking for the dog ) I'm always on their side ;)

I'm sure the dog didn't mean to knock you down. And try to remember that to them a computer isn't any different than yesterday's newspaper that is about to go into the bird cages. Just like to my birds, an antique buffet isn't any different that the wood bird toys I give to them. We just need to remind ourselves that we love the critters more than our material possessions.
