The quarantine did not go as planned. Partially my fault to be sure but partly Luna’s fault.
I guess I should not have moved Merlin’s cage to a place where Luna could see (and fly) to it. That’s just what happened. Luna went and landed on top of Merlin’s cage. What’s done is done and can’t be undone. I just have to hope Merlin did not bring anything nasty home.

Since the cat is out of the bag I have been letting them out of their cages at the same time. The first time Luna flew to where Merlin was perching Merlin made a couple of lunges at Luna. I think he was saying “keep you distance” not “I am going to attack you”. That only happened once and has not been repeated.

They stare at each other, they stretch their wings and make displays at each other. Luna talks to him in Zon speak. So far they are still keeping there distance but it seems clear they are both interested in each other.
Here is a nice photo I took of the two of them on Luna’s cage.
Merlin is above and Luna is lower down.

Oops is so right, Dude!

- The first thing that came to my mind was: It is never the fault of the Amazon! It is always the fault of the Human.
- The second thing was, a momentary together time would have likely not result in the exchange of any bad bugs. Now that they are near living together, well I hope you have a date with your AV in the very near future for both of them!
- And, Third. You will likely Luck-Out and everything will be just fine!

Way to go Amazon Snob! The Bird's Did it! Right!!! :D

Have appointment for Merlin on Friday but my CAV is on vacation had 2 make appointment with the exotic pet vet instead. You think I should take both?

:green1: :green1:

Stuff happens, and I knew this was gonna work out, Wes!

Depends on how skilled the exotic vet is compared with avian. Thankfully you're dealing with a well-bird check as far as you know, not one in imminent distress.

Yup, you messed up here... but it seems to be one of those Bob Ross' "Happy little accidents".
I love the picture of those together.

Hmmpf, bad person you! ;)

Now get that new one tested for *everything* not just eyeballing by the exotics vet - we are already looking at them (and slightly drooling here as well, gosh they are beautifull birds)
Go thorough, donate blood, get cultures going etc.!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEK! The disease is a rare one... Luna has contracted the TWO-HEADED Amazon Disorder!

Sorry... couldn't resist.

What a gorgeous pair!

As you know Wes, it will depend on what the chems and gram stain show! Just assure that your Avian Vet looks over the results! Any concerns between now and the scheduled visit, bring them both.
