Hey guys,
I have some question on how to build trust all around with my 2 lovebirds.
So for some background, I bought 2 lovebirds male and female a while back who were both not tamed. After keeping them for a week in a cage I let them out which was a disaster as one of them broke a blood feather and I had to pull it out causing him to be scared of me. After a while, they learnt to open the cage themselves and started to let them out and always come in after sunset.
They've gotten relatively comfortable with living in my room, they like to hide in my jacket (and have been living out of their cage for the past week). They eat from my hand and it seems like they trust me.
The problem is whenever I seem to reach out my hand (without food) to let them step up they go crazy and stay as far away from me as they can. I don't see any improvement, is there something I could do different or I'm missing that I should do to build mutual trust?
