Omg we won the bird competition!

The Australian birdkeeper magazine had a competition for young birdkeepers and you had to write a story!

So, i entered a story about Fargo....

AND WE WON!!!!!!!

It was a joint win though, so got 100 dollars instead of the 200

And got a years subscription as well!!!!!

this is what some of the email said:

Fargo is already in the back of their magazine on the adverts page, but now there is going to be a whole story about him!!!!!!!!!

It might be published in the next magazine, so in the april issue?

and i will post a photo of the pages so Fargo's Non-Australian fans can see him

Now what to spend the money on??!

I sent ALOT of pictures in with it, they loved the one in his birthday hat..
but i had written the story in september, so the story isnt actually that good, because we hadn't really bonded yet

but there will be pretty pictures

and yes, they must not of been able to decide on a winner, so chose 2!

Lily you should be able to get it at any newsagents ? All our normal ones stock it, if not just a pet/bird shop would have it

That is awesome!! Great news. Years ago my dog won a photo contest and $100 gift card to the pet store and i was so tickled (i kept saying "you EARNED your own money, Pablo!!")
I love that your competition involved writing. Very cool.

Oh Wow, Congrats you to you and Fargo! I have been thinking of getting that magazine. Do you get Parrots magazine? They have a reader story section you could enter Fargo in that one too. Sam was actually in that one (Nov. 2012) they gave him room for 3 pictures. I bet you could win a spot in that magazine too. How exciting, i would love to hear updates when they produce the article. =)

I am pretty sure they do a digital copy you can buy, but the story also goes on the website, so when its on there i will just send the link

The birdkeeper magazine has a form on their website where you can submit an article, i was thinking of writing a trick training article and submitting it..

Or just do short stories about Fargo

and no i dont read Parrots magazine ! I will have to have a look at it!
