This is so wierd after replying to Lindsey's thread! I wasn't expecting Argyle's DNA results until early next week but his AV has just called with the results...

Good Deal! , now everyone knows hes a boy, including Argyle ;) Congrats !!

Congrats!

The title of the thread led me to believe that there may have been a 3rd option.

It feels good to know doesn't it? I sent my sample in on Monday and got the results yesterday so it was pretty fast.

:green2: OMG yours was quick, mine took a week and yes it's good to know.

:grey:Now the focus is on Beau who I'm convinced is a girl. Maybe I'll do a test but not this month as I'm skint lol

That sure is nice to know, isn't it? So, now you know that you can keep his name.

That's one of the reasons I like cockatiels, specifically the wild-type gray color; because they have drastic sexual dimorphism. Then there's no real need to get them DNA sexed.

Isn't DNA testing a bit on the expensive side? I've always wanted to get one done on my B&G macaw but heard it was pricey & I never knew where to get it done. Mind if I ask how much you paid (you can PM me if you don't want to post it on here)?

Yes I believe it's about £13-£14 here in the UK although I don't know how much I paid because it was done through the Vet along with one or two other things.

Congratulations to "mom" and your new boy !. I also have a hahns and have always called her/he a "he" but now I am thinking I really should find out. Will let you know the outcome~
