OMG... I tried but failed!!

Keep in mind the difference is, you are training the bird not to be afraid of something he already is afraid of. It's a much harder task than teaching a dog to sit. Birds are so vastly different than dogs; don't be too hard on yourself!

Ain't that the truth! I like how both my birds are wary of strangers... unlike dogs they all wag their tails and love strangers the second they meet... but birds know better :p

Rascal immediately flys back to me when I place him on a stranger's hand or shoulder. It takes a while for him to warm up to stranger he doesn't know. He's smart to know who his mommy is :)

lol I have a few who don't like strangers but most of mine are happy to chew on someone else's shirt instead of mine lol. Glorie, my cockatiel, will FALL ASLEEP on strangers [emoji849]

It depends on the bird, and the socialization. Any friend that comes into my home,is introduced to my kids. We will sit at the kitchen table, and I'll go get Amy and the Beebs and put them on T stands that are on the table.

BB loves all his "uncles". My buddy Joe,and Jonesys old parront DJ,visit often. BB goes to them readily ( prolly coz he gets to taste different ears lol).
Even when Al (Wrench13) and Salty visited,it didn't take BB long to be telling Al his life story,singing/twittling in Al's ear,and talking up a storm.

'Nut sure is gutsy! He's loves the flightsuit... every time he sees the flightsuit he gets happy and starts singing to it whereas Rascal HATES the flightsuit and runs away from it! LOL

You would think after the bad experience 'Nut had with me putting the flightsuit on him he'd hate it just like Rascal does but nope... he's all for it :D ... at least for the time being... since he's only worn it once so far haha

Perhaps lil 'Nut will give Rascal some confidence in time with the flight suit. He will be watching 'Nut and won't want to be left out. Put on 'Nuts suit and take him out for a brief excursion leaving Rascal behind and then try again with both of them and see if he is happier?

I think 'Nut is in love with the suit because I only put it on him once so far. Right now I'm going to get him comfortable with me holding him first and spreading his wing out before I attempt the suit again because it as a NIGHTMARE getting it on him... since this was a one time thing I think he forgave me and made friends with the suit again.

It's just so funny how in love with the suit 'Nut is (I will get it on camera).. he tries to serenade the suit. He is a frisky little thing though I've noticed
