OMG I just clipped Rascal's wings in a desperate measure to protect CooCoo'Nut...

I wonder....maybe is he feeling something that could be bothering him, if he doesn't want to be in a cage by your bed? I can not really think why he would prefer a fish tank over a cage...maybe does it dim sound/air or something? Maybe he is more frightened in something tall? Because a fish tank is kind of short, and wide.

I think trying a small cage could be good by the bed! Does he sleep on the perch in the fish tank? Kiko is a light sleeper, and thus is prone to more panicking more. But I recently got a sea-grass mat, and he fell in love with it. I think it provided him a sense of security, and he sleeps deeply on it. Kiko also sleeps in my room, because his cage is in there. He hates loud activity, and prefers to be separated in a quieter room, from the family. It works out well, because I can just spend all the time in my room with him.

I also wanted to add that I also have to clip Kiko's wings once in a while. He goes through phases where the littlest thing scares him, and he can almost never land properly. So it works by breaking things up a little, and clipping his wings.

Have you tried a second cage?
I think I read somewhere that you keep them in the same one; it could be an issue with space that sets off his panic attacks.

So Happy!! :D

After 2+ years of using it... I got rid of the fish tank... took it back to the store for a refund (store credit). I just moved to an empty house this past week where I will be living by myself (for the next month or so) until I find a condo to buy. Rascal now sleeps in the same cage at night with 'Nut... bye bye fish tank NEVER AGAIN!!! The bedrooms in this house are super GROSS (thick filthy nasty old carpet I won't go anywhere near it)... so I am living in the living only LOL. The kitchen is also SUPER NASTY (old and falling apart everywhere) so I have my entire kitchen on those two white picnic tables in the living room!!

Here is pic of where they sleep in the big cage togther... Rascal freaks when he can't see me at night... as long as he can see me all night long everything is great! So they sleep in cage next to my bed from now on... 'Nut also very happy he not alone anymore at night he didn't understand why he was always abandoned at night... trust me... if you knew and saw... he is happier now too :)

They are also getting along GREAT! Here is Rascal "flying".... me giving him some exercise LOL

Clipping Rascal (at least temporarily) is DEFINITELY the best decision... I am soooo glad I did.. it has made a HUGE difference... 'Nut is now safe until he can mature as needed SAFELY :D Rascal also happy he has his old routine back.. being out of cage all day long with me.
