grrr well nut has been alot clamer since her increased cage time, today she got a time out! extra cage time

she flew an bit on the hand twice, reason being i had earlier told her off an shooo-ed her off my poor chewed mouse! and both time my hand was on the mouse when she attacked!:11:

she even stepped up after 2nd attack, she looked well sorry and did not fly away! an went into her cage, all shame faced:31:

well i am now sperting lovely puncher wounds to my fingers, nuts grinding her beak in sleepin cage:p

i can laugh about it now!:11::D

She had chose your mouse as her toy & she's not sharing. I've been vacuuming, Merlin got up from his nap to fly on my shoulder & supervise. He hasn't bit me yet, but probably will b4 I'm done. At least she is ashamed, he never is. lol

Ouch. Kito did that to my hand after I kept moving her from my book once. Attacked three fingers in three attempts and it took weeks to heal. I guess this is the adventuresome part of owning a parrot.

Sue,

I kept threatening Willie with the same fate being Thanksgiving turkey when he misbehaves but he can care less....lol....im not allowed to have my birds at the dinner table so they don't get to view the whole turkey being cut, they shouldn't watch anyways.....I have several mischievous ones that will steal if your not watching...

Awe, all of my birds are vicious about the keyboard and mouse. I don't know what it is, no matter how many toys I provide they rather have my equipment. Ok, so I do know what it is... kids do the same thing. xD

lol merlin your so right, nut really is not a sharer

awww karigan, it is an not only that there to cute to be annoyed with for long, she even did a cute little squeek when i caged her an made me feel bad!!!

lmao mike nut will be draggin leg off table! and my man be all gerrroooffff my leg!
ppl at work have said i should stuff her, an some one said yes into a chicken, then a turkey etc heartless ppl tut
an lol all i can imagine now is you trying to do the carving of the turkey, while your flock scurries on table pinching bits veg etc an willie just takin the turkey!

iolani, nut behaves like a sibling to my son, what ever his got she has to have, he won't share (so blaming him for this all mine behaviour! lol) if his settled she un-settles him an vise versa, and when it comes to telling them off i do the classic mixing up of names! nuts the 2nd child i decideed not to have lol

LOL! Nut knows you'd never really do that to her ;)

I took this off the internet, show it to Willie when he's being bad. lol

OMG!!!! ROFLMAO!!!! Trying to get rid of this annoying cough since I got the cold. I was laughing and coughing at the same time...lol....Willie knows my cough real good, he would imitate my cough....

Haha, that is the best picture ever.

MerlinsMom - LOL!! That's hilarious!

suebee - Puck has random bitey moments too! He doesn't act sorry though! I still have a bite healing from a week and a half ago!

How do you express to Nut not to bite? I don't generally yell or anything when Puck bites me, but my mom says it would be a good idea. It seems like Nut at least knows, even if she disobeys!

lol with nut it really depends, sometimes she will bite out cos she is excited, those tend to be rather hard nips that she just gets a tuttin for and them and i let her calm down, i think it might be same with puck at times, his biting cos his excited, so if you see him gettin all excited, let him calm a little maybe

when the bites come from anger, i generally see them coming so back off or keep her off me, but with the mouse i had my back to her, but after 2nd attack i was tellin her off big time, the whole pointy finger thing, i think she instictively knew she was the one to have to back down for a change.
bite to the face nut understands as a NO NO, but does not stop her from trying to at times because she is angry for what ever reason

so for random bites i personally would show a mild negative reaction/sound, it takes a little time for them to link the 2, but thats not to say they won't bully with a threat of a bite, nut gets a tellin off for that

bit like teaching a 2 yr old lol consistancy works best, an understanding it might not always work. and not be to disheartened by that
but for any serious bites i can't help but yelp etc, i try not to show anger because that installs fear, or worse put nut into defensive mode and we end up with our own little nut V sue stand off, and then it takes some time before we are both calm enough to stop glaring at each other lol
