Salty likes a nice big drink of water after our training sessions. But he is too lazy to go back into his cage to get one, so I offer it to him while he is on his perch/boing. When he is done, if I offer it to him again, he politely takes the lip of the bowl and pushes it away. At first I didn't catch this subtle bit of body language (ouch!), or what ever language it is (ouch!), but we clearly understand each other now.

Watch your parrots body language, Amazon or not; most telegraph what is gong on in their little birdy noggins.

So Salty asked politely and you didn't listen? Guess he didn't ask nicely twice then

Kiwi actually does this same behavior when he's finished eating/drinking etc... and pushes the cup/bowl/utensil/piece of food etc... away. Don't listen and receive a free chomp!
