Today a population of fruit flies exploded in my house. Not hard to understand since I feed a lot of fruit. Every few weeks we just seem to suddenly have an issue, and this one was pretty bad.

So my husband said we should get an iguana. I explained to him that iguanas eat fruit, but we could get a gecko! I love geckos. And/or a chameleon! I love those too! And he was all "yeah, good idea!"

And then he said, "or maybe a turtle!" And I replied that I don't want a turtle, but someday I want a tortis, and to let it roam my house like a dog. Tortoises are really popular here in hawaii... Until they are no longer the size of a hamster, and then people suddenly "don't have the time to give him what he deserves." Insert eye roll. So someday I plan to adopt someone's cast off tortis and keep it forever and ever.

I also want a Flemish Giant. It's a rabbit, and seriously you should google these guys. Huge. Like, some can get up to almost 30lbs. I also want this rabbit to roam my house free and happy.

so anyway we are talking about all these tings and and my husband, the jerk, is like "yeah, we should find someone with a tortis to see how Ranger gets along with him" and on and on. And then the whole fantasy comes crashing down with a "you know I'm kidding, right? No more pets. We have enough."

NOT FAIR!

Ok ok, so I already have 13 species of pet in my house, 14 if you include the husband... Maybe now isn't the right time to add another species to my 650 square foot condo? Ok. I can see the logic.

Plus I got to see 2 Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles up close and personal tonight (and I did not harass them, which is against the law!), so maybe the day wasn't all bad, even if I don't get to run out and buy a tortis :)

Awww...that was not cool to tease you like that...LOL.

Aww, I'd do it anyway. Sounds like he would adapt to life with a lizard, torti, or big bunny. You could sneak it in like our last dog. I said, "Oh, we're just fostering her for a while. . . " Six years later, she's still here. ;-)
