BB has been in rare form today. Talking and stepping up like a insane bird. Having so much fun

I took him into the kitchen to Visit James while he cooked and BB yelled as loud as he could. SHUT THAT DAMN BIRD UP

We just stood there looking and then BB laughed. Obvious something he learned from his past home . Sad very sad

Not good but funny nevertheless, I think.
Maybe that why he was laughing. Maybe he wanted to make a joke.... :).
It's interesting how they remember something from their past, and it comes out rarely.
I could swear Simba asked me one time "Are you a good girl?". But she haven't done it again since.

You're not kidding!! I'm gonna leave this little gem here

Just had company over. Of course he had to take off from the top of his cage to the couch :( Scare the crap out of everyone.

Sounds like a textbook case of MAC screwing with the Human's head and its working :54:

Proof: Laughter from the MAC in question!

Yeah, pretty scary and sad at the same time.

A few months after we got our GW, she surprised us one evening when she angrily blurted out bits of a heated argument and ended up with something like “YOU’RE GONNA GET IT!!!”.
You could feel the anger in her voice. She usually talks in a very sweet high pitched voice...but for that one moment, she took on a very deep voice.
Pretty eerie if you ask me.

I can only imagine what she may have experienced in her past life...poor thing.

Ha yeah I have had a moment like that with Peanut, my yellow collar macaw. I had family over and it was a little loud and as clear as me to you he says "Shut the F**** up!"

There's no cursing in my house so he picked it up from one of his previous home. Funny at the moment, but sad as well.

The Catalina Macaw we fostered for several months used to scream jibberish word assaults that sounded like heated arguments she couldn't quite hear. Also, she screamed "Murderer!!!" one evening. [emoji15]

BB Yelled that one day when I was giving him a bath. One of my co workers said BB's first home must have told him I am not going to murder you . LOL

I don't curse....not ever...

Anyway, sometimes it really only takes one single 'slip', and they can pick it up. Niko picked up a word that way. It starts with an 's' and ends in a 't'. It's a 4-letter word. :54:

He said it as clear as day after he had disassembled an entire toy and it fell to the bottom of the cage. We all just looked at each other, I was trying really hard to hush everyone up, but too late. Everyone was ROARING with laughter, including Niko. :32:

Wow. It's sad that he was once in that kind of home. No wonder he took his time warming up. But now he must feel like he's in heaven.

And I can imagine how badly BB must've scared everyone landing on the couch like that! He's a big boy! ROTFL!

Has he been getting more comfortable with flight, Christine?

In context, too?!? Hahahahaha!

In context, too?!? Hahahahaha!

Yes, in context. Niko speaks a WHOLE lot in context! My oldest story of him expressing himself is right here:

I've got a story to share: My Niko is going to be 3 in October, and he's picking up words and phrases left and right. One evening during cuddle time he suddenly insisted he wanted "Yum Yum". Yes, he begs for food that way :) In any case, I had nothing on me to offer to him, and told him, "I don't have any." Again, this time a bit louder and more persistent he says "YUM YUM!" "Niko, I'm sorry I don't have anything here," I replied. He looked at me and then said: "Let's go get it." I nearly fell out of my chair, as I certainly didn't expect THAT response. But I did get up and rewarded him with a treat and Niko has since replied in the same way many times. :)

Not really. The only time I see him attempt to fly is when he is startled. And it is not a pretty landing.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!? That's amazing! The level of reasoning and problem-solving implied there is incredible!

Hahaha! Poor thing. Reminds me of my Suzie. He (I was told the he was a she. Once I'd learned more about cockatiels, I realized we'd done the little guy wrong with his name. Sigh...) was clipped when I got him, so he'd never had the chance to fledge. So anytime he'd take off, landing was an issue. If he missed my head, he would circle the room a few times before finally deciding on a wall, flying right up to it until his head was pressing against it, and flapping his wings furiously as he slid slowly to the ground. LOL!

Jonesy had/has a typical "truckers mouth" :52: At the top of his lungs.."your f'in me! your f'in me"!! He didn't get it from ME that's for sure! lol
