My Amazon was clearly having breathing problems. On close inspection I found one nostril was blocked. I held my bird in a towel and with a tooth pick I gently probed and found that a small amount of feather fluff had congealed therefore blocking the nostril. With a wooden toothpick I gently removed it and now my bird is able to breath normally.

and was your bird not able to sneeze out the blockage??

reading this made my eyes water a bit, nut generally has a good sneeze when i get water up her nose during our baths so i probably have tried that 1st, but i'd take your bird to vets to rule out infection, just to be safe

How is he breathing now, i have a couple of amazons on anti-biotics ,for respiratory infections now, started with lots of beak rubbing and progressed to sneezing and then labored breathing, under control now, all is good.

Sometimes that does happen to certain birds. What you did to remove the blockage is what I used to do. Just keep an watchful eye to make sure nothing else is wrong!
