Jasper- bare eyed cockatoo
I took Jasper to his vet a couple months ago and she said he was on the lean side but healthy at 298g (breeder had him at 336g 5 days prior). I just got a suitable scale and weighed him tonight at 294 and of course now I'm worried. From what I have read he is small for a bare eyed and now I'm concerned he is not eating enough. He is picky with fresh foods and doesn't really like seed mixes but will munch on roudybush pellets all day long. He is not very active. He is perfectly content playing with toys while on his stand and only gets active for a short time in the evenings. He is 8 months old. Can I expect him to put on more weight as he gets older? Anyone else have a bare eyed around this weight? I will be monitoring his weight with the new scale but wonder if it's worth a weight check at the veterinarians.
