Nobody Ever Told Me (a poem)

Wow, SB. That is really good!

It hits very close to home too. Do you know how hard it is trying to be a tough guy when your friends know you play peek-a-boo with your bird, and have to sing oldies with your parrot because your Mother taught them to him? "I'm an Old Cowhand from the Rio Grande", and "Moon River" come to mind.

Hmmmm....maybe that's why I subconsciously taught him those swear words...so I could cling to some shred of maculinity. :D

That is lovely...just lovely! I may frame it for the bird room!!!

Don't worry, nofearengineer, "tough guys" aren't very appealing!!!!

SB that was so beautiful, thank you for posting. Every "Nobody told me" I was saying to myself, yep that's how I feel.

Loved it ! It's on the printer now and will be on the wall before lunch lol

Only 1 more day till my baby is home and sharing our lives
I wonder what poor mikki will think the baby is almost as big as him and he's only 5 wks old lol

I guess if I knew 30 years ago what I know now I'd be far richer monetarily, but much poorer had I never known the love of the feathered friends that have passed though my doors........guess I'm just glad no one told me ;)

Aweeh. That was a great poem. The first ones, where shes talking about standing in the check-out line with a bunch of toys.... Thats totally me. Toulouse may be tiny, but she goes through BIG toys REAAALLYY fast. And I spend alot of money on her, and her very expensive pellets lol.

Every single word is so so true

Besides all the true facts, this particular line keep crossing my mind all day

Nobody told me I would make friends I will never see and that I would worry about them and theirs as if family.
