Pritti (Cherry-Head Conure) -- Fly in Peace my beautiful boy. Forever I'll love you.
Instead of getting holiday presents this year for Pritti and family/friends, I am going to send gifts to parrots in need. Although I donate to avian causes throughout the year, this year I am going to tell anyone that plans to buy me or Pritti a gift, that instead they should go to a certain Rescue's amazon wishlist link and buy something there instead, which will then ship directly. Seriously, there is nothing I actually "need", and Pritti has tons of bird toys, plus his favorites -- whole rolls paper towels, wood, and empty boxes.
It's a way to create awareness. non-bird folks to get involved and help, whether it be a bag of food, a perch, a small or large toy, or something very grand. Then I'm going to thank them on my FB page (if it is okay with them) for buying and donating a gift to the parrot Rescue.
ADDITION:
P.S. I'm going to let each person know that instead of me giving them a gift, that I donated on their behalf a gift to abandoned, hurt, hungry, homeless, and sick parrots that are being cared for by volunteers, and that the gift made a bird's life a little better and a volunteer's a little easier.
