Hahn's macaw and red bellied parrot.
My hahn's mccaw Kahn loves to sit with me in my recliner after i've been at work all day or if i've been off running errands. However he seems to want to ALWAYS go after a mole i have on the back of my neck (in my hair line) of in that REALLY sensitive skin in the crevice of my neck!

Is he being loving ? or wanting to play? when i tell him loudly NO or move him away he squaks at me like a moody teenager. surely he is just peeved because i'm interfering with his affection, because he isn't narrowing his eyes or anything.. ?

I'm new to birds and am trying to correct this behavior.

It sounds like Kahn is preening you. :) He doesn't think the mole belongs there, so it has to go. Lots of parrots are like that and will pluck out hairs, try to remove moles or freckles, chew off hangnails, and so on.

cnyguy is right. Mine do that all the time. Anything out of the "usual landscape", moles, freckles, skin tags, stray hairs, are all subject to removal. Preening is also a social thing, and they'll do it to each other when comfortable with each other.

My bird always tries to remove my moles as well, it hurts lol! :(

lol my mans skin tags with the nut!! but after quite a few NO's and time they will know its meant to be there

don't bother covering it, as nut use to just start looking for them lol the day she managed to clamp herself a big one, man had picked her up, to move her, as she would not step off! he was crying in pain and she was not going to let go of her prize!!
soo funny to watch lol

but now she leaves them be
