nicknames we've given our birds

Kiwi gets called Captain Wingflares and the foo bird, for obvious reasons :09: If some of you have never heard the tale of the foo bird, I suggest you look it up. I think every parrot owner can relate lol.
:green:

Sally- Silly Sally, Sal, Buttercup (cause she always has sweet breath)

Kiwi-Chicken Scratch, Moody Pooty, Bat Bird

Waddles-Big Bird, Seed Junkie, Banana Fanna (loves having banana beak), and sexy (she is a little hormonal :) )

Odin- pigeon, pige, seagull - are you seeing a theme, if you have food that's where he is or tries to be... cuckoo hawk

Salty- A-Salt bird, crazy bird... well because he's a bit crazy lol

Greenie- upside down bird (likes to stare at you with his head turned completely upside down) mostly just Greenie

@ Blue- I think Kiwi and Greenie could be buddies! We thought Kiwi was the only bird who enjoyed looking at the world from upside down, until I read your post. It just such a goofy thing for a bird to do! Usually we are greeted upon returning by the "batbird" and he can hang upside down just like a bat, staring at us, for a good 10-15 minutes! Parrots are very odd creatures.....

Greenie doesn't hang upside down very often... just looks like his head is attached wrong lol

- Crazy chicken (when she is being amusing)
- Strawberry Chicken (when she is being sweet)
- Mana bird, the destroyer (when the room is covered in bits of everything and a whole of nothing LOL)

My nickname for Rosie is "Rosie-posey". When she lived with my friends their African gray would called Rosie just roe, and sometimes rose. It was interesting as we never called her anything other then Rosie.

in the last while we started refering to Pippen as "Napoleon", or "Napo".
Mainly cause of his absolute disregard for his small size...

Puck was Puckerdoodle and Silly Goose.

Darcy's facebook name is Darcy Dirigible because of his silly crop inflating behavior. Lately, I have been calling him SillyFace.

As of today Niko has EARNED a new nickname.

I don't curse around my birds, or at least try VERY HARD not to, but I slipped earlier this morning and called him "POOPIE" HEAD. Just replace the first word with the less friendly version. :30: :54:

LOL!!!! :D

Been there, done that!

Just glad they ain't picked up on it yet! :) As fast as the Zon's pick up words, I have no doubt they'll be the first to repeat any, but they mainly listen to Deb so I might be ok. :D

Haha, about words the parrots pick up... When my lory didn't realize I was home, I've heard her saying things that she's never said in my presence before! So I've come to believe that they can learn something just from hearing it once, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll "hear" them saying it, lol

Mango has earned a variety of nick names depending on his attitude. When hes being nice to me and being playful.
Tough guy
Feather head
Feather butt
Fluffy butt
Fat butt (yes I find his little birdy butt rather adorable)

When he decides to get really cuddly:
Cuddle bug
Love
Love bug
Honey
Fluffy

When he gets mad at me because I went on vacation for 10 days and left him with Dave so he uses his beak to remove a sizable chunk of my thumb (this morning) he was:
Poop head except with the poop replaces with a specific cuss word.
Followed quickly by Snotty Little Feather Butt.

I call all of mine "birdiepies" and sometimes "birdiegirl" or "birdieboy." We even made up a goofy song about birdiepies...and my first Grey would say "I bird girl." I am not sure how she figured out the proper way to use the preposition "I." They don't miss much!

Birdypies are what Mango leaves all over my house. Hard to clean out of the upholstery...
