Interesting as always Findi, glad you addressed newt care. Thanks to some advice you gave me a while ago, my little fire belly newt is thriving. I have noticed my newt is much more active since being provided with a higher water level (he now has a magnetic reptile ledge for "dry land" freeing up significant room in his tank). He also easily switched to the pelleted newt food (though still gets some bloodworms). I did figure out a great way to clean out uneaten food and poo that has fallen amongst the rocks- a turkey baster (used only for the newt of course) and installed a small filter in his tank. He overall just seems more happy, as I had been (unknowingly) not providing the best care for many years. Hopefully others will be able to take proper care of their newts from the time they get them
