Parrots
Pair of Green Cheeks/ Pineapple and a Yellow side. Sonny and Cher
Hello:
Just a note to intro ourselves. We live in Paris ON Canada, just West of Toronto. We love animals/ we have a Yorkie, a Dachshund/ Frank our cat and two Conure Parrots by the name of Sonnie and Cher. We love them all.
I am a retired Toronto Firefighter. Have only had our Conures since Dec. but find them to be a lot of joy. Any tips on Conure would be aprec. Although I have read a fair amount about them.

Thanks and feel

Are you sure these two get along perfectly? If not they should be in seperate cages. That cage is a bit small for the two of them. Also perfectly cylindrical perches are bad for their feet, and you don't have enough perches.

Get proper branches with bark on them that bolt to the cage (from a good petshop). That is the best kind. Get at least 4 of these.

That was not a good picture. That was the SMALL cage they came home in. As you can see we have a new much larger cage for them. They seem to be getting along fine and they have a number of toys.:green1:
A number of different perches.
Anything else you would recommend? I aprec. the help.

Thanks, George, yes they seem very happy and content. They get strawberries or other fruit every other day as well as other fruit. Sure do like apples.
As well they get a good quality pellet as well as a seed mix. Water is changed every day.

LOL the GROUP are getting along really well. We have a cat as well as two dogs. The older dachs, doesn't bother with the birds if they flutter down to the floor when thy are out. The cat is scared of them and he is a house cat. The Yorkie wants to play with them. But they are never left on their own so we watch to make sure there are no mishaps.
:rainbow1: Some people would think we are a little odd/LOL/ but we love them all.

Don't let your birds near your dogs or cats. One scratch from a claw or tooth on the bird can cause a bacterial infection and death. If the bird swallows dog saliva, it can get an anaerobic bacterial infection and die.

You should feed birds organic produce so as not to expose them to pesticides any more than necessary. Strawberries are a big no no unless they are organic, as the level of pesticides on barries is the highest of all produce.

Also, berries, since they are so high in fructose, should only be offered in tiny amounts once in a blue moon.

We have been using organic for a couple years but lately, you have to wonder?? Is it really all that diff.. Don't give them much in way of strawberries. Not a problem with the other animals.

What fruit would you suggest/ they get apple, mango, blueberries and a number of other.
