Newbie Intro :)

Hi every one
I have joined the forum because I am thinking about getting a hand reared Alexandrine. I have had hand reared budgies in the past and have bred about 20-30 budgies before so i'm not a first timer. I also keep and breed a variety of finches. I've been keeping birds since I was seven, i'm now 13. Just wondering if I should get a male or a female Alex?

Welcome to the forum ! Cant belive im a year younger then you! This place is VERY addictating, so addictating that I can't last a day without going grumpy and irritating. Not that many people that understand or even have birds in my area. Always great for information and advice.

I know what you mean, i'm a member of 3 other bird forums, I don't know what I would do in life if I didn't have any birds that would suck.

hey finch_breeder welcome! its great to see so many younger people passionate about their pets. i have just bought a baby alex 2 weeks ago, and hes now 5 1/2 weeks old. its been an amazing experience! i took him to a bird vet last week for a check up and everything is fine, and i got a dna test done too to find out the sex. good luck in your choice - i cant give you much advice in which sex to choose, but i can hopefully share some of my hand rearing experiences with you

There are a few finch forums about, I'm a member of the Aussie Finch Forum.
You don't have to be Aussie to join nor do you have to own Australian finches.
