Hi, I'm new here. I have a male Yellow-crowned Amazon, named Salty. He's 15 years old and I've had him since he was weaned. I also have two little parrots: a green-cheeked conure (normal) named Chico and a fawn pearl pied cockatiel named Kiwi. Both of the smaller ones are female. I'm looking forward to being on the forum, parrots are the best! (and sometimes the worst, depending on the season!) With June approaching, Salty will be transforming from a love bug to an unpredictable pit bull. He can't help it! Anyhoo, hello to everyone.

Thanks for the welcome! I've been reading in the Amazon forum; there are some really good ideas expressed in there. There's always more to learn with birds, glad I found this place!

Hi, welcome to the forum!! Have a look around, plenty to learn. You learn something new each day on this forum.

You have some beautiful birds in your flock, I would love to meet them. Looking forward to learning more about them!

Hello, and welcome to you and your feathered friends! I love Yellow-crowned Amazons, having lived with one for 40 years, and I'm sure Salty is a great bird, despite his mood swings. You undoubtedly enjoy the company of the Green-cheek and the 'Tiel a lot too.

Wow, that's great you had one for 40 years! I hope Salty lives long, I don't see any signs of him slowing down at age 15 so hopefully he will live a long life. My nephew will be inheriting him and already my nephew practices getting along with him whenever he visits. Which is reassuring to see. The green cheek and the 'tiel are really sweet, loving, smart and mood-swing free, which helps me get through Salty's bitey periods. They're my kids, since I don't have any of the human variety. But I definitely know they are birds! It helps me though sometimes to remember they are like a 2.5 year old human.
