In everyones experience what is the preferred training treat that you use?

The one your bird likes.

Sorry, but there isn't much of any pattern across birds. Auggie's favorite is dried fruit, particularly blueberries and papayas.

Poulaki's favorite is these little seed/ berry things I think they are called Nutriberries? Anyway, just have a feast with your bird to find out which type of food he likes. Good luck!
