If any of you doubted in Santa's existence, you shouldn't now! LOL
I still cannot believe this.. I was contemplating for a while what it would feel like to get a friendly loving bird, that you would not have to tame for a long time, going through all these struggles of biting, skittishness, and establishing the trust... I never had one like that! I dreamed of a little tame green budgie for Christmas/New Year, but I didn't really look much, and didn't even hope to get one.
So I had a break from painting yesterday and was casually browsing the CL of a little neighboring town, when I suddenly saw a desperate ad that someone needed to get rid of their budgie "today!". It was 8pm Dec. 31... I responded to the ad that 'I cannot come tonight, but could pick him up tomorrow' (today). I was very surprised to get a response "sure, we still have him, come and pick him up tomorrow". The lady chose me from many other responders! She adopted this baby budgie from a shelter and found out she had a terrible allergy. She had bad sores on her face and hands... She gave me everything for free - a large cage, tons of food and toys, and a most amazing little boy Tesla!!! On our way home he sat on my finger, chirped, snuggled under my chin and tried to give me kisses! He is a sweetest little creature I ever met, and he is only 3 mo old.
Needless to say, I'm SO HAPPY, and I believe in Santa!
