Hi everyone!
I have wanted an IRN for a long time now, and a while ago I finally decided to bite the bullet and get one. I was placed on a breeder's wait list so I had several months of waiting waiting waiting before the possibility of chicks became real. I spent that time researching and finally yesterday I was able to bring my new baby home!
He's 8.5 weeks old and still on 2 formula feeds per day. Which is fine, because I have a cockatiel chick of the same age (same hatch date!) that is still currently on formula (new set of first time parents kicked him out of the nest at a week old), and they both eat the same thing lol.
Anyway here he is! This is Indie (SUPER original, I know)
He is still a bit shy and doesn't want me picking him up yet. We're taking it slow. He's quite hand shy which I thought would make cleaning his face after formula feeds difficult, but i've found that he is SUPER chill if I slowly place a tea-towel around him and then wipe his face with a warm, wet paper towel. He just doesn't like bare hands grabbing at him.
Anyway I just thought i'd introduce my newest feathered baby!
