- Female Dusky Conure (Kayak) Female Sun Conure (Carlisle) Female Budgie (Meister) Male Budgie (Spooky Burd)
I'm not new to owning birds. I've always had at least one bird my entire life. (I went a few years between getting a new bird after giving my first bird a Cockatiel, Jake, to my lonely grandfather. Those two are inseparable now.) I now have 3 parakeets. One is a very talkative hand fed little guy I call Spooky Burd. Once he starts talking there is no getting him to shut up. He knows his name, sooie! (like you call a pig), wake up!, good boy, and "what're you buying?" (I'm working on the second part of "what're you selling?") he's the only one of my 5 that really talks. The other 2 keets are pet shop dime a dozen birds but I love them just the same as the others.
I have a very pretty Sun Conure named Carlisle. He's my very loud, very rude little buddy. He uses his few words he knows when he wants your attention. He'll say hello for 15 minutes straight followed by whaaaaaaaaaat Carlisle for another 15 minutes until you give him some loving. He's also potty trained which is my favorite part about him
My best little birdie friend is my Dusky Conure named Kayak. I know I shouldn't have favorites but she's my all time favorite out of the group. She is my little snuggle buddy. She will spend hours with me just chilling. She just wants to hang out (on a towel of course because she is my "master pooper") she only knows a few phrases. She can say I love you, peekaboo, what, and (my favorite) are you a psycho?
Well, that's my flock. I'll post pictures at a later date aside from my feathered children I have 4 cats that are banned from the bird room. 3 would happily eat the birds and 1 is scared to death of birds. They're my furry children and own the rest of the house.
