I have had parrots in the past, the very distant past, (like 25 years ago) and loved them. Then, 1 1/2 weeks ago I came across a deal I couldnt resist! Soo, now I am the proud owner, (or ownee) of a year old BFA! I couldnt be happier!

Zhe is a sweetie and we are still getting to know each other, but so far, so good.

I'm going to try and post a pic of my new best friend if I can figure out how!

I have been giving Fidget his chop faithfully every day and he loves it....... on his perch. He wont touch it in his cage! Goofy bird!

Just a bit of backstory on him. Apparently his previous owner had a bad experience with toys and lost a bird because of it, so she never gave any toys at all! So, I bought a few before I got him and put them outside of his cage for him to get used to before I put them inside. He immediately started trying to pull them inside his cage, so I moved them inside within about 15 min of getting him home and settled. He is a toy fool! He plays nonstop and destroys them more quickly then I could imagine! So now I am on the lookout for toy stuff to keep him entertained!

Well, his new cage arrived today. He watched intently as I put it together, and before I was completely done he has wandered over to check it out and was playing contently on top of it. I thought he would maybe take a few days to get used to it, but no, hes loving it! So I went ahead and moved his toys into his new cage and he seems to be adjusting quickly.

I am so happy with him.... hes quickly becoming my owner!

The fact I am 5' 7" means they are almost out of my reach!

Very true on all accounts! Hes out of my reach as well, but he does love it! He does have a stubborn streak a mile wide! However, his kryptonite is fresh banana and melon. I put that in his cage and he runs right in! It works like a charm!

Now... hes in his new cage and seems to enjoy it, but he has been trying to bite me every time I get close. I've been giving him his space, but I'm wondering if it might be the new cage?
