Ok, so now I have a new problem, well actually two problems...

Ok first off, I am now having a problem getting her to step up for a reason I never thought I would have.
... My bird is an addict to head rubs! Yes, head rubs :04:
Every time I put my hand in her direction her beak hits her toes quicker than I can say "Step-up" and she won't put it back up at all... I am talking about I can pick up her head (gentle) and it would fall back down like dead weight...
Funny stuff but a pain when I really want to get her out.

Problem two, which has a cute bit of story too it.
This morning I stuck my hand in there to say good morning and a little rubbing and she bee-lined for door, waddled right up the door and I thought she was heading to the very top of the cage like she normally does... soooo
as she is scurrying up the door I am saying "hey, hey, hey, what do you think your doing. Get back in there"
well she didn't go to the top of the cage, she went to the top of the door shuffled over to my face and said (in a much clearer voice) "Hello... *kissing noise*" it was too cute... but that’s not my problem, the problem is after i gave her some love for the cute, yet sneaky hello, she did what I would describe as her trying to regurgitate food for me. I could be wrong and she could be doing something else, but I am 99% sure it was just that.
Now my concern is that if she is too young to be doing this, is her gagging motion something else

Those are pretty good problems, but I bet sometimes frustrating.

Ok Problem #1. Here is my solution stop giving such great head rubs. :D Actually I don't know what you can do with that, but it is cute.

As for Problem #2, to my understanding birds will try to regurgitate food for you as a gift, an appreciation of their love for you. Popsicle tries to do it for me everyday. Never actually gotten anything up yet. Your supposed to take this as a compliment believe it or not. Hope this helps.

It is too funny, going to try to get some video of it

My concern is that she isn't even one year yet... so is that still normal

Can't wait to see a video.

I've seen CAG do it at a little less then a year, so I wouldn't be too concerned. You can always call and ask your vet just to be sure.

:18: :18: That is just too cute. :18: :18: The only thing I can think of is to get Cricket to step up BEFORE you give her the wonderful head scritches.

Bucc would regurgitate for me from about 9 months old, I just ignore this as I would rather he didn't feed me, he will do it every now and then but I just ignore it and he will stop. Don't think its anything to worry about, but you could always give your vet a call and mention it to him/her they will always be able to put your mind at rest.

I agree with Peta on the stepping up before head rubs. It will be hard to do at first, but Cricket will eventually learn. The hard part is going to be convincing everyone else not to give her head rubs unless she steps up first.

I have the exact opposite scenario with Sisqo. Anytime you go to pet his stomach or head, he automatically puts his foot up as if he were going to step up.

well I am the only she lets touch her so far... so no problem there. :D

she is such a loony toon though... My little brother was yelling to my mother yesterday and Cricket told him to shut up...

:18: That is hilarious. :18:

Bucc will let everyone touch him at the moment............... except me. It seems all his jealousy is being taken out on me, but I'm sure he'll come round eventually. :18::confused:
