Military Macaw
Hello everyone:),
We brought yesterday our new baby. It is 8months Military macaw. He or She is so cute and we are so excited. He/She, because it doesn't have any name yet- we have to choose:)), is very shy for a now:) We are going to start to train our baby in a couple of days:)) I posted some photos.

One one more great thing, we took our Greenwinged outside to a garden last time. Hi starts to be a great bird too:))
I LOVE My BABIES:red1:!!

I have got a question. Because our Military came from a pet shop it has clipped wings. He looks so poor without this beautifull feathers. How long it might take feather to grow again?
Thank you

Until his next molt, which can be anywhere from 3-12 months (or somethin like that), depending on when his last one was. Some birds only have to have their wings clipped once a year if you time it right and clip them right after they molt.

nice, congrats!

@melasia: i don't usually keep track and just let them grow back themselves, but i think
it takes 6 months to a year? not sure. and of course if they fall off for whatever reason,
they'd grow back faster, no? ;p

Why not get a Blue and Gold macaw or a Hyacinth macaw to complete the color chart in your collection? They will look so colorful if you let them all out to play together. Their colors look like Easter eggs! But, not for this Easter. Maybe in a few years!
