I have a galah and a budgie.
I have had the galah now for over 6 yrs. His name is Axel.
I rescued the budgie about a month ago her name is Anna.
The person who had Anns was trying to get her out of the cage to fly away. I was just coming around the corner of my apartment building I stopped her and said I will take her. So she gave her to me. I already had a nice cage for her, so I just to her home and put her in her new bigger cage. I have been working with her trying to get her use to me. Its a little slow but she has been through a lot. I have worked up to her taken a piece of millet from in between my fingers. Now for me. I live in Las Vegas Nv. I am retired so I have plenty of time for my birds. And my English bulldog Oscar.

O git called about a loose parrot, before I could catch a cat did. He was skeleton starved, and with antibiotics did live. So you saved this burd a slow death from starvation, or a horrible death in claws.

Just out of curiosity, did you get your galah from a parrot shop in Maryland(or from someone who did, since that was more than 6 years ago)? Probably not, but the galah we had there was also named Axel. Probably a common name for a rose breasted cockatoo(galah). Would be cool if your Axel was the same bird I knew back then, though. He inspired me to adopt our Pink Pigeon.

Stories like Anna's always make us feel good, so thank you for brightening our day, Tman. It's nice to know you have two lovely Aussie birds AND a bull-dog (I have a white British bull terrier called Roxanne) - you have excellent taste in companions.
