I have had birds all of my life Manny the parakeet, Feathers and Snowflake cockatiels , Arthur a nandy conure, Merlin an ele sulphur crested cockatoo who just passed away in January after being a member of our family for 30 years.

Merlin was a special bird he could tell when I was going to have a seizure before I did he would lay Dow with his head next to mine (from what I was told) until I felt better ...he was my pal. I still nor will I ever get over his passing. When we had him cremated i was sent a poem called Rainbow Bridge....Google it...it got me through the terrible 4 months after.

Currently , we have Coco a 17 year old female cockatoo, Simon one very big Moluccan cockatoo who is 22 years old, and Doozer a male Quaker who landed on my sons shoulder when living in Florida .

This span goes from before I was married to present...42 years of being with my feathered friends.

Welcome to the forum!!! For those of us whom have lost a bird in the past or present completely understand your pain from losing a loving parrot as they're like our kids/family member. It will take time for you to heal but just always remember you've got the other feather children that needs you to help you to go on giving all you can to your other feather children. It makes me tear up thinking about the ones I've lost but I need to care for the one that's still here so I move on, but will never forget.

Please do post some pictures of your feather kids! ;)

Hello Michael, and welcome to the forum. :)

I'm very sorry to hear of your recent loss of Merlin. :( That had to have been absolutely heart breaking.
