Pampa Blue Crown Conure lost 6/18/2019
Hello Everyone,
I joined your forum because I just got a Blue Crown Conure. It has been a bit of a ride. I have Walter and Pearl, cockatiels, and they are lovely birds but what I originally wanted was a green cheek conure or Quaker. My first cockatiel was given to me during a time that I couldn’t afford to buy a GCC. I live in a rural area, too far for rescue groups and you have to travel to find any breeders. So long story short I was at a pet shop checking out a baby IRN when this Blue Crown Conure said “hello” and invited me for a game of “peek a boo”. Many visits later and loads of research I became totally charmed. I then went to check out a large cage advertised on Craigslist and it turns out the woman selling the cage was Pampa’s original owner. Sadly she had to give him/her up. After talking with her about Pampa I was completely sold. Tonight I brought Pampa home. I am looking forward to getting to know her. Pampa is three years old. Pampa is very tame and prefers women.
My cockatiels are great. My original cockatiel died a couple years ago from old age. I had Pearl as a companion for Sweetie. When Sweetie died I stumbled upon this year old Walter. The first time Walter met Pearl he leaned towards her and said, “such a pretty bird”. I didn’t know he could talk! I say I keep Walter because he always whistles at me when Im getting out of the shower. LOL
