New member, Hi!

Hi, I've only owned a bird for about 6 months, but have been completely smitten. I have an 11 month old Alexandrine named Max and my husband is getting a Red Front Macaw named Jade as soon as the breeder's comfortable that she's ready. In fact, we're going to see her today.

It's amazing how they wiggle their way into your lives. We've always been dog people, but now with our birds, we may phase out ofn the quadraped pets (as nature takes it's course, obviously).

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I've had a great time browsing all of the topics. We went to visit Jade this weekend and it was the first time she sat with my husband for significant interaction. She's fully flighted so she has the option to leave if she wants to - and she didn't! He was so excited.

I think my Maxi-Max knew that I'd been to see other birds and was much more possessive of me than he usually is. So, he got some spinach to play with so he knew I still love him best.
