Hello everyone, I am a new member as of today. Myself, my familly, and our feathered friends live in Washington State.

I love birds and I have had birds in my home for at least 30 Years now.

I currently have 2 Bourke Rosies, 2 Green Cheek Conures, and a Hahn Macaw.

I like to think I am fairly knowledgeable about birds as I am the type of person that possibly over reads up on subjects before tackling them, but recently was not prepared for my conures who decided to lay eggs despite not having a nesting box.

Not having the heart to dispose of the first egg on the bottom of the cage, I went out and got them a nest box and to my surprise we now have 7 eggs. Cheeky and Ripley apparently are overachievers and tried to go for the maximum capacity. :03:

Although I have hand fed larger birds before and I have read up a lot and now feel somewhat prepared with all the normal and emergency needs (brooder, hand feeding formula, added calcium, etc.) I came across this page and joined in the hopes of having some back up in case of any unforeseen surprises, which I have no doubt there will be.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome from Bellingham, WA :)

A warm welcome to you and your flock!

Best of luck with your soon to be new additions. Hopefully the parents will be dutiful and pave the way to success. If not, seems you have the skills to help. The Breeding/Raising Parrots forum should be beneficial. Might consider creating a new thread there for more dedicated assistance. (if you do, make it a bit different from your original post to avoid "cross (duplicate) posting! Thanks!!
