hey all
We have a 3 year old Brown headed parrot named Shyla.
She's a sweet ,gentle little girl.Pig headed sometimes though. :)
We also have a baby turquoise IRN.(12 weeks old)She isn't tame yet,but we're working on it.She's only been home 4 days now,and she's settled in nicely.
Both birds are in 4 foot cages with all the trimmings, and get all the attention they can handle.
Glad to be part of this very informative forum.(it's already helped me alot)
I'm also a fish freak. :) Been keeping African cichlids for over 20 years now.

Welcome to your wonderful forum. We have lots of fun with our parrot crazy people. Sometimes tears are shed too from sad events but that is rare. Sounds like you have a very nice flock. We love pics!! Hint

Oh my word - you have a brown headed parrot!!!!!Mine passed away yesterday but what lovely parrots!!!! I would love to hear about what Shyla is like in character etc. Hugo was around 2 years old and was quite the character - he was my life!!! Its so good to finally have someone else on the forum who owns a Brown Headed...I would really like to keep in touch to learn about what she gets up to - I have never been able to track someone down who also owned that breed, the internet wasnt much help either. I have scanned books etc to find out all I needed to know about owning one but I kinda figured it out along the way...Please, pics are always enjoyed!!!

Just saw your avatar pic....she is too cute!!!!Where did you get her from? She looks like such a lil lady!

The avatar pic is from net...None of my pics were small enough.
Yes....my little brown head is the best. We just love her. These birds have a great temperment. We got here from a local petshop. She had been in their store for 2 years!!!When we started looking for a parrot,I did alot of reading .We looked at alot of parrots, but after meeting Shyla in the store my mind was made up.We looked at a senagal-meyers-conures,but in the end I had to get her out of there. :)Your right on about the lack of info on these parrots.
Here is a couple pics of my girls...(both DNA'ed)
hope this works.....
