Hi,
My name is Samantha(25 years). This is my first time owning an bird. I have a Eclectus Parrot (Jezzy)
and an Cockatiel (Tweety) 
. Before anyone tells me I shouldn't have gotten them as a first bird. I did not buy them. My mom's best friend rescued them from a man that kept them in the basement and they were in really bad shape(like they were happy when I kept giving them fresh water). She gave them to me because she knew that she did not have the time to take care of them the way they needed.
Both Jazzy and Tweety live with four cats(three of which have never care about them), three dogs, and three fish.
I have had both birds for about 3 months.
Jezzy came with her name, but she love's jazz and 40 - 80's music. Also, when she's happy she does this load purr thing and when my dog comes in the room she woof's at him.
I named Tweety because he didn't come with a name and the reason I named him Tweety he talks and sings lot now. Also, I have cats and he out smarts one cat all the time. Its funny to watch Tweety do this(don't worry the cat has given up and Tweety never got hurt or could have gotten hurt I made sure of it.)
Jezzy lets me pick her up and spented time with her now. She is now potty trained and knows how to step up and step down.
Tweety doesn't want anything to do with me, but to put on music/tv show, feed/water him, and to open the window. (Don't worry I sit close to him and talk to him. He now doesn't go nuts when I put I hand in his cage to change is water/food.)
Both are getting there new fathers now that the old or bald area's are cleaned and I think they are much happier now.
Just so everyone knows. I may be asking weird or dumb questions because I'm not sure about somethings that they are doing and where not in the books that I read.
