Mango - Sun Conure
Kiwi- Green Cheek Conure
Hello fellow parrot lovers:)
I am owned by 2 Conures. Mango :orange: My 3 yr old Sun Conure and her partner in crime Kiwi:green: 1 yr old Green Cheek. They try to share me with 2 dogs,1 cat,and of course those fun to watch humans 2 girls and the wife. The dogs are a 2yr old Jack Russell "Patches" and the 7 yr old Beagle. The Girls 6yr old and 12 yr old. Wife not saying:D. Oh and the 14yr old Sofie cat.

We keep M&K in the same Cage, but since it is very large I haven't seen andy issues. Mango acts much toward Kiwi as My oldest daughter does toward my youngest...she loves her until she is annoying. Kiwi is not as lovable as Mango but is always perched close to the closest human. Their cage is in the center of the house so they can always get attention. We have one end of the Sofa next to it so they can interact with their humans even while in the cage. Kiwi has a habit of biting the cat and Patches tails when they sit there. I have days where Patches is in my lap Sofie is on the headrest behind me and Kiwi and Mango are on there TV perches next to me (in the cage).
Patches doesn't pay much attention to Mango because she was here before Patches came to us. Kiwi is a different story. She really wants to "play" with the green biting machine.
I try to get the birds out of their cage daily. Patches doesn't like not being the center of attention. Most of the time M&K hang out for a bit and then just fly back into their cage to play. Should I be worried?
Ok I rambled enough ;)

Your birds are adorable! Especially the sun conure! (I think Skittle is in love), LOL. Aren't suns just the cutest little clowns? They sure keep you entertained and on your toes.

Haha very cool pics! I also share my house with dogs and birds, the smaller of my birds climbs all over the older of the two dogs (16months) but my larger, younger bird doesn't trust either of the dogs! I wouldn't worry, it's great your birds are happy and comfy in their cage =) it looks like you have a great setup for them!

cute family. loved the doggy

Hi ErichT

Welcome to the forum.

I'm a sun conure lover too but unfortunately during a move 3 years ago I had to find a new home for my pair.

At the moment I'm owned by 5 IRN's, two cats and three dogs so things tend to get hectic, lol.

It's not the zoo that creates most of the chaos around here, it's usually the zoo-keeper that loses the plot, lol.

"I am owned by" versus "I own"...LOL SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO true!

If you run a zoo, you should charge admission. LOL. That'd help with the "bills" I'm sure they pile up. LOL

I'm still trying to get Skittles over his 'twitter' fixation. He has a 'thing' for that little blue bird and I don't have the heart to tell him it's not a REAL bird.

They are both very quiet actually. But they are also our home security system. nobody gets near the house without them setting of an alarm which gets the dogs going. Sometimes I think Mango does it just to get the dogs going:)

Same here. Peaches, my cockatiel, is rather noisy - she often has a lot to say. Skittles, my sun conure, is almost always quiet. He only gets going when Peaches gets going, the phone rings, the doorbell rings, or their is a knock on the door. Or if he wants a bath. He is VERY vocal about his baths. But he IS loud! Fortunately, I live in a well-insulated building. The people upstairs as well as downstairs cannot hear either of them. There are only two other people on this floor besides me and they are both very good friends of mine. Only one of them complains about him, but she complains if you breathe. lol. If he wasn't so beautiful, I think she'd have a bigger problem. She just loves to look at him. He's practically neon colored. His feathers are bright and shiny.
