Hi all!
We've had Pearl, our Goffin, with us about 3 weeks.
She took over the house on day one, and has made herself completely at home. Til today. Today an outrageous evil descended upon her world - a new manzanita tree! THE HORROR!
There was a big ugly plastic parrot stand here when she arrived, and she never cared at all - climbed all over it. Well, I couldn't take the hideousness any longer and replaced it with a lovely, ridiculously-expensive-don't-tell-my-husband-how-much-I-spent manzanita tree.
Pearl won't go near it. It sits between the couch where I am and her cage, like a bridge between the two places. She now refuses to come out of her cage, even if I offer to carry her past it.
I feel bad that she's too afraid to come out. I've hung her favorite toys from it and filled the bowls with her favorite treats and nibbled some in front of her, but still no luck.
My plan is to leave her door open and just let her get used to it... hoping her natural curiousity gets the better of her, but any advice is appreciated.
