- I have just put a deposit on a baby sun conure and he/she will come home with me in a couple of months, if not sooner!!!! I am so excited :)
Hi! My name is Carrie. I am new to owning a conure. I have in the past owned several cockatiels, with 2 of them being rescues. Unfortunately their health was bad and didn't make it. I am a single mom of 3 kids-- two teens-- one 14 yrs old and one 17 yrs old and a 5 yr old. They are pretty good kids.
Just yesterday the kids and I went to Keller's Flea Market in Savannah and visited the bird shop (like we always do when we go ) She had a bunch of babies; some ready to go home and some not quite ready. I walked to a baby box and two of the sun conures were sitting on the edge playing. As I got closer, one decided it wanted to get on me, so I stuck out my hand and immediately he jumped on, walked to my shoulder and reached over to give me LOTS of kisses... It was instant love at first sight!!!! I put a deposit on him and he will come home with us very soon!!!!! When it was time to put him up so the shop could close, he ran away from the shop owner... He was ready to come home with us right then.
This will be my first conure, so I am sure I will have lots of questions and request lots of advice!
I can't wait to post pictures. (He is just starting to change colors in his wings)
