Hello.
I just found you all because I am searching for ANY info I can get on caring for splayed leg birds.

Everything I seem to find deals with FIXING it when they are babies, but I just adopted a B & G macaw who is 4 and he has severe splayed legs (I posted a question about it in the general section with a link to pictures)

I also have a normal B & G who is 9.

:))

Hey Cassidy, welcome to the forum. Don't know that i can help withyour question. I mostly deal with preventing not treating/caring for mature birds. Have you tried contacting universities like LSU or Auburn. Not that they care for affected birds but maybe for help in treating. Good luck and i'll see if i can find any helpful info. PS God bless you for taking on such a challenge and giving such a poor soul a chance.

Hello and welcome. Sorry I can't contribute. I have no experience with Macaw's :( but there seems to be a lot of experienced folks here and from my reading, Henpecked seems to be one of them. Good luck in your search!
