New here and a new macaw mom!

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and new to macaw ownership. Three days ago I adopted a 8-10 yr old green wing female macaw. Her name was Rudy, but I have changed it to Ruthie. I am her fourth owner in her short life so far. I have a Senegal as well. I had a grey but he ended up loving my daughter more and now lives with her ten minutes away.
I live just outside of Edmonton, Alberta on a 20 ac horse facility, training and breeding and riding for the sport of dressage. I also have 2 bostons, a chin and a standard poodle pup.

Welcome and bless you for adopting. I hope this will be her final home. You'll have to show us a pic. I like the idea you had to change her name to the feminine, but not make it too different. I have a male GW 17 named Mi hijo that I just adore -- thus the name (my son). He's a handful, as his doctor says, but he's a lot of fun. I find Macaws have a real developed sense of humor. (I have a B&G, too.) Have fun with Ruthie!
