Hello and welcome! I am fairly new here too. I love this forum. Birds are amazing pets, children, friends, companions, etc... chosing a new bird (family member) is fun and exciting! Do a bunch of research and pick a breed that suits your personality. You'll love it!

thanks guys! i feel very welcome here! every1 is so nice! i was thinking maybe a quaker parrot. i have another thread about it if you want to check it out. still trying to convince my parents though. came here to learn a bit first and i will stay afeter i get my bird to help others too!
