Kiwi-3 year old Nanday Conure, Loui-5 year old Gold-capped Conure!
I got the Gold-capped conure!! Oh he is so much prettier than his pictures. The second he got home he came out of the cage and landed on my shoulder and he's been there ever since! He's playful and we can all pet him. He's the most amazing thing I've ever seen next to my Kiwi girl. His name is Loui. WELCOME HOME LOUI!! On Saturday I'm getting 2 cockatiels also. They are coming from the same place that he came from. I'm so excited. I've decided that birds are like tattoos, you cant have just one!!!

Aww he sounds so cute! Bet you cant wait for your cockatiels too! (if you dont have them already lol)

You are right birds are addictive!!! They are soooooo much fun! Congrats on your new baby, and the new ones that you are getting too!!

Yep! Addictive is right!

We started with A cockatiel, a month later couldn't resist cockatiel #2, 2 months later a conure made us take him home, 3 months after that 2 more cockatiels came to live with us and then of all things the following month...I found an injured pigeon and brought him home from the big city and well...he bonded to us and is soo cool!

Last year, in 8 months (February 17th to September 16)...we went from ZERO to 6 birds living in our home.

So I COMPLETELY understand your excitement! Congratulations and I have to say:

Bless my hubby for putting up with me!

Toni

I totally hear you. My hubby is great to put up with me and my animals as well. I started with 2 conures (Sunny and Bo) then we adopted a Blue Fronted Amazon (Casey), then a Cag (Peppers), then last summer we inherited a blind duck (Quackers) that needed us alot. (He is very bonded and thinks he is one of our chihuahua's. (we also have 2 Chihuahua's (Pippy and Grizz). Then my last bird I just got 3 weeks ago and he is a blue crown Conure (Mozzie). They all bring so much into our lives. But my flock is for sure complete now. I told my hubby this is it. (I don't think he believes me - but it really is)

*Sighs*. Yes addictive, I just went and got 2 cockatiels. So now i have 4 birds total. yes, Bless my husband for putting up with me! He says I'm spoiled. I cant help it. I love these birds and wouldnt give them up for anything in the world.

Congrats on the new baby! Welcome Loui! And yep, birds are definitely like tattoos. Of course, pets in general if you're a head-over-heels kinda person, are addictive. When our Goffin comes home, we'll have 6 pets total. A slight bit overwhelming since we'll be moving sometime in the next 6 months!

Enjoy your new little guy!!

Congrats on your new arrivals! I would love to have more birds when we picked up JJ the breeder introduced us to his blue and gold macaws and his eclectus's. My husband was head over heels for the female eclectus the breeder had(he loves red) and I really wanted to get him one but I worried about cutting time with my JJ. Maybe someday our birdy numbers will grow though...

Congrats on your new baby..Ive been eyeing my sons new tiel too.He is just ssooo cute but I promised Id keep my hands off so it wouldnt bond to me...Maybe one of these days.

I was worried about getting new birds because of the way Kiwi is. As some of you know when I got him he was very mean and non trusting. I love him more than anything in the world but I didnt want him feeling like I was choosing other birds over him. I am pretty sure he was abused in his last home simply because of the way he acts. He wont play on things he just sits on my shoulder with his head buried in my neck. But since I got Loui he has been coming around a little bit, watching Loui and trying to do the things he sees him doing. So I'm hoping that maybe with a little time he'll come around. He seems to be adjusting well to the new additions so all is well so far.
